Archaeology in the Gallery, a practical approach to its Islamic wall
In this special visit we will know the founding Islamic wall of the city of Madrid that is integrated into the Gallery of the Royal Collections. From the pre-excavation documentation, the methodology followed and why it was used; the inventory and cataloging of the findings for the interpretation of the whole, as well as the archaeological reading of the features to record construction phases. We will visit and focus the activity, in addition, on the part of the wall reserved, not included in the usual public view, all this by the hand of Álvaro Soler, Head of the Department of the Royal Armory of the Royal Palace of Madrid, a medievalist specialized in archaeology of this period.
